With a magnitude of 5.9 on the Richter scale, another earthquake hit in the morning the Island of Hispaniola. It was the second earthquake in Haiti in 8 days after the January 12th earthquake which destroyed a lot of building in Haiti and killed about 200,000 people. It originally was recorded as 61 in magnitude but the US Geological survey has downgraded it. The said earthquake struck at island at around 6:03 am local time, and were centered at 18.385°N, 72.870°W at a depth of 6.2 miles (10 km). It was situated at 35 miles west-southwest of Port-au-Prince. Though this was considered an aftershock, there were no damages or casualties based from the latest news and reports.
